I know of 5 mini ownders counting you and me. Joel Patterson the forum moderator has 1, and there's Kelly who has 2 also Sandi who has 2. That's all I can think of.

Well, I guess Spiffy makes 6. She is about 1 1/2 yrs old. We rescued her about 8 months ago . She was abused and at first, only lay curled up in a little frightened ball.  Happily, that is no longer the case. She has made our house her home and when not looking out the windows for the "dreaded Oreo", the neighbor's cat, is sitting out my husband's lap at the computer, or asking one of us for play times or walks. She has won our heart (and I am happy to say, I believe, we hers).
Love reading about all the other dogs, especially minis. Liz

Wow, Liz..  I, too, have a 1 1/2 year old Mini Schnauzer that we rescued about 7 months ago.  He wasn't in quite the bad situation yours was, but, did live his life in a cage with barely any human contact, exercise, etc.

Now, he's a riot.  Loves to be loved, makes sure he gets plenty of exercise and looooooves everyone and every thing.  He's our little clown and certainly quite the contrast to our Newf, whom he absolutely adores.

Yay Liz. Welcome! Happy to read your introduction.

My Bailey is about 2.5 years old and we adopted her a little over a year ago when she was 18 months. She'd been neglected and had just had puppies (who had all found homes by the time she came home with us). She's such a sweetie...mellow, quiet and a LOVER. In true schnauzer style she has a wonderful personality and keep us smiling every day. She wants nothing more than to be with us! I have a teenage son and "tween-age" daughter too. Bailey's won everyone's heart and is truly the beloved baby of our family, altho she's mostly a mama's girl (since I'm the one who rescued her). She's my heart dog!

Wow! All of these rescue stories[8|]. We got Bruno from a breeder, hehe. He's about 9 months tomorrow.

Don't forget Daisy and me, We're here too!
Daisy will be one in April, and is the leader of our pack here.  We got her from a breeder before we learned much about good/bad breeders, so she is no show dog by any means, and is smaller than the average ms, but she is perfect to us and has a great go get 'em attitude that we love.

Yup exactly! Bruno is no show dog but we love him anyways.

We can't help but love our goofy little George.  [:)]

He's one heck of a little clown.  I would love to hear stories from the rest of you mini lovers about your dogs antics, personalities, etc.

He is our first little dog - we've always been big dog folks until George dropped into our lives.  He's quite different from our Newf - aside from the obvious (size), he's full of energy, mischievous, clutzy, bossy and seems to have a way with conning our Newf into giving everything to him!!!  Our Newf is so sweet, mellow, innocent, etc., etc., etc, - George, well, he loves to snuggle but aside from that we commonly refer to him as our little shark, broken boy, Mr. Happy and not quite right.

Here's a picture of him shortly after we adopted him - prior to grooming.

Love seeing all the minis.    One's cuter than the next. !!!
A  serious question re: the miniature schnauzer breed. I know that they are known to absolutely love food. Ever since we have had Spiiffy she sometimes throws up in the late afternoon. Actually, very little to come up  as she hasn't eatten since 7am (just occasional treats throughout the day),.Out vet said many dogs have a problem with too much acid and throw up when the stomach is empty . He thought it could be corrected by giving her a half of a Tagamet mixed in with her meals. Doesn't seem to be of much help. We've been giving her more treats during the afternoon , try to keep her busy and have backed up her eatting schedule to 5pm. Still doesn't help much. We're beginning to think this may have something to do with the horrible people who had her before we adopted her. Maybe they didn't get home to late sometimes and she didn't get fed?  Have any of you mini owners run into food situations? Luckily, vet isn't concerned about a serious health situation since it only occurs at this time of day.

This depends. How many times a day do you feed her a FULL meal? What do you feed her?
