Although I really do like all types of dogs I am particularily drawn to dogs that fit my idea of what typifies a dog. Medium to large. Longish coat. Floppy ears. Long tail. Long red tongues. Black/brown eyes. Rounded snout. Energetic but not overly althletic in body. Extremely friendly with a bit of goofyness about them.

I just love dogs. I love almost every dog I meet, almost instantly. I even like dogs that bite me, LOL. I love the look of some dogs that I would never own, because they wouldn't suit my household. I love the personality of some I'd never own, because we just wouldn't get along, full time....

My list for dogs I want to own, right now, consists of (of course) JRT and Dachshunds (but just Teenie, not any more Dachshunds, she's a superduperspecial Dachshund;), Dobermans, Xolos (I want an intermediate or standard), Chinese Cresteds, and Standard Poodles. I think that my home will always be graced with the presence of a JRT. I just LOVE the breed, and can't think of a better companion, for my way of doing things.

I truely love ALL dogs, there are just some that I would not want to own, either for lifestyle issues or personality issues.  I really got an appreciation for all the breeds after going to the IKC show in Chicago.  I met so many different breeds of dogs, and ended up meeting and getting a different perspective on breeds that I was previously a bit afraid of.

AmStaffs are probably my favorite, but I'm drawn to hounds as well.  If I ever have the time I'd either get a Borzoi or a retired racing Greyhound.  I also had the privilege of meeting a Plott Hound last year.  If I could find another one of those, I'd take him in a heartbeat.  They are just the sweetest things.  For those of you who have not had the chance to meet one of these wonderful dogs, there's a pic attatched.  This guy was called a Dobie mix, but Doberman rescue said he probably wasn't.  He fits the standard pretty well and he had a good cold nose.
