    Favourite Breeds

I was just wondering what everyone's favourite breeeds of dog are! pure, mixes, or unknowns! Mine are Icelandic Sheepdogs, Small Munsterlanders and of course Australian Shepherds. But with the unknowns it's fun to try and figure out what's in them.

Jack Russells, Dobermans, Chinese Cresteds, Xolos, and Standard Poodles.

I love all dogs, though. Really, there isn't a breed that I don't like. There are breeds that I wouldn't have, due to the fact that drool grosses me out, or they wouldn't match my lifestyle, but I love them all.

Geez, that's a tough one.  I guess I would have to say that suits the person they are with are Great.  Hmm, my favorite would be a Shih Tzu right now... THats what I have.  But I have had Great Dane, airdale, Wire  Fox terrier, And Rottweiler.  I thought they were all great breeds.  I really think its the Dog not a Breed that makes it wonderful![:D]

My favorite individual breed would be the Siberian Husky. I've never owned one, but I've met some and they're absolutely beautiful, great dogs. However, my current lifestyle would not permit a dog like that, so I will most definately have to wait at least 5-10 years.

But I do love my mutt, and I think my next dog(s) will be rescues. I volunteer at my local shelter and some of the dogs that go through there are so great, I really want them. But I want to wait until I at least have my own house before I get another dog.

    I like the big dogs...
Bordeaux's of course, Briards, Kuvasz, Bouviers, Great Danes,
& if we ever got a small dog, it would probably be a couple of Miniature Pinschers...or maybe Chinese Crested...

My Favorite breeds include Dalmatians, Greyhounds, Whippets, Border Collies and of course JRT. I have always been a big dog person until we got Dasher. I have owned (some were family dogs) Labs, Dals, JRT, St. Bernard's, Springer Spaniels and mixes. I am a sucker for all dogs. Now I'm pretty sold on JRT. I would also like to eventually own a border collie as I would like to have 2 agility dogs, but right now Dasher and Lille keep me pretty busy.

My favorite all time breed is a mutt!!!!! I've never had a purebred dog, all of our dogs have always been unknown mixes, and I've loved them all!!! As far as purebreds go, my favorites are German Shepherds, Border Collies, Pitt Bulls, and Boxers.

Without a doubt, the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever...

Before I knew a whole lot about the temperment of the Toller, I was attracted to their size (17-21 inches, 37-51lbs) and coat colour. I love dogs with pigment that blends nicely with the coat (in the Toller's case, orange body with orangey-pink pigment). After I met my first couple of Tollers, I researched them a lot and I discovered that they were pretty much (lol...I say pretty much, because I doubt many people enjoy the "Toller scream") everything that I wanted in a dog. They're very high energy, high drive dogs and are always wanting to work. They can be pretty stubborn but are highly intelligent, you have to convince them that what ever you're trying to teach them was actually their idea, but once they understand what you're asking of them they're usually very willing to please. I also love the fact that they aren't remotely close to Goldens and Labradors in temperament, they're very similar to the Border Collie except instead of herding instincts, they retrieve. They're also very happy dogs and are constantly wagging their tails, they also look like they have a permanent smile (well, unless they're serious about something...such as a ball) Of course, I could go on and on but that would take days, so I'll stop here.....there is no dog better for me than a well bred, well trained Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. I'll *always* have them.

    My other favourite breeds are:

    - Belgian Shepherd (both the Groenendael & the Tervuren)
    - Rottweiler
    - Dalmatian
    - Field bred Labrador

Hmm I don't think I have a favorite.  I have owned mutts, Airdale Terrier, Rottweiler, Great Dane, Afghan hound, Chow Chow, Lhasa Apso, Wire Fox Terrier, poodle, and now Shih Tzu.  A good dog is a good dog regardless of breed.

I can't seem to get beyond GSDs. I look at other dogs and compare them to my beloved GSDs and they just don't cut it for me.
Before we got Molly, we considered other various dogs - but I simply couldn't let go of what I truly adore.
About the only breed of dog that will turn my head is a GSD.
    I am very prejudiced LOL

Hehehe!!! Yet another reason I chose you to be Molly's mommy!!!

    Labrador Retreiver
    Golden Retriever
    German Shepherd Dog

Those have always been my top 3. There are some breeds that I don't like, however, some that are ok, and others that I like a lot. Sorry I can't say I love all dogs, there are just some breeds that I don't like very much. Is that natural to have some you don't like? [8|] lol

So the others I like.....here are some.....Australian Shepherd, Border Collie, Collie, Springer Spaniel, Husky, ...can't think right now but there are more I could think of [:)] Lot of the bigger dogs, I don't like many small dogs.
