What is your all-time favorite dog breed?

For me, life wouldn't be worth living without my Cairn Terrier.  We have bonded so closely over the summer, now that I'm back to school he is completely heartbroken when I leave everyday...

My favorite breeds would have to be the Siberian Husky and the German Shepherd.

Hmm it would be German Shepherd...Shih-tzu..I own both...But I have always wanted a Dane

The Jack Russell Terrier has stolen my heart. I also *really* love Xolos, Dobes, and Standard Poodles.

I love Chinese Cresteds, but seriously doubt I'd ever own one. They're too delicate, for me. Beautiful dogs, but not suited to my lifestyle.

i've have to say the dachshund got my first pup when i was 6

I'd have to go with the rottweiler, they just have the greatest compassion in a breed that I have owned. Though my dog Scotty now is an Am. Staff and he is the greatest dog I have ever met. I know we all say that but he is

The breed that has won my heart is the Shih-Tzu, I never imagined myself loving an animal as I love my Harley Shadow. He's owned me for 11 years now and he still sits around like royalty, with so much dignity and his head held high in the air. Yet he's the most loyal and loving dog I've ever known. Yes, for me, most definitely the Shih-Tzu. [;)]

As a child, I remember we had all sorts of dogs.  Some were purebred and some were not, but they were all wonderful.  I'd have to say though that the breed we own now has been by far the most incredible dog we've each ever had.  That's why we can't wait to get another one.

Our American Eskimo Dog is so versatile.  Dakota is one of the sweetest dogs people have ever met.  He's very goofy, so he makes many people laugh.  He loves kids and they love him, so that's why I take him to work (a school) with me every now and then.  He's a joy for old people, so that's why he visits two different nursing homes every month.  He's an awesome watchdog and will sound the alarm when someone is walking past our house or if something is out of place (like a plastic bag that has blown its way into our yard).  He's so smart that he can be taught tricks easily.  He's very agile too, so that's why he's doing so well at agility.  Even though the blowing of his double-coat can be quite a "hairy" experience, his fur is something else that I love.  When I hug him, it's like I'm hugging a big teddy bear.

My favorite is the Black Russian Terrier. I want one sooooo bad. When I get out of school........and ten or more years down the line when Buck has reached the bridge, one will be mine. Love the Bucksters too much to devote my attention to another dog. [;)]

My all-time favorite dog breed...a mutt.

I got Maisie because my friend knew a breeder who's westie had more puppies than expected, but until then, I was planning on adopting.

All dogs ARE mutts, once you really think about it.

My three favorite breeds are doberman, cane corso and dogue de bordeaux.
    • Silver
Definetly Saint bernard.  i considered almost every breed available before deciding on which one was right for me.  My saint is about 10 weeks old now.  Close, and i mean close second is Border Collies or Border Collie X's.

How can you ever choose a favorite?

My favorite is whatever I own or are playing with at the time.

When I was a kid, it was a beagle, then a malamute, then a cocker and then a poodle.

AS an adult, A mutt, a yorkie, a norfolk terrier, a beagle and an Entlebucher.

Every single one of  those dogs were wonderful animals in some way shape or form. They were all my favorites during their time.
