The Belgian Shepherd (Groenendael, & Tervuren) and the Hungarian Mudi follow pretty close, but to me, there is absolutely nothing like a Toller. I have been taking in rescue Shelties for 23 years.  I just really love the breed and feel that I understand them. Have been able to rehabilitate them. I love my own dog who may be a Border Collie mix but when searcing for my dream dog I just fell in love with the Beardie, they are just loveing clowns. For me any hearding dog can steel my heart, someday I also hope to own my own flock of sheep for all of my future hearding dogs. • houndlove Posted : 9/25/2006 9:37:10 AM For me it depends so much more on the individual rather than breed, but my heart has been stolen by coonhounds! Runner up would definately be the bloodhound and maybe someday I'll be able to rescue one (some day when my walls and ceilings aren't white!). All of the giant breeds just make me swoon. There's just something about a HUMONGOUS dog.   What do you think, Xerxes, are we hound fanciers just gluttons for punishment?
