    Golden Retriever Dachsund mix

Hello everyone!!! I'm new here & my name is Terri. I recently bought a 3 month old puppy, but I can't seem to find much information about his breeds (he's a Golden Retriever Dachsund mix). I was just wondering if anyone here knows anything about this mix,or if anyone here owns one.

Hello and welcome!  I have a doxie mix, too, but mine is doxie/beagle.  I bet yours is cute.  Post a picture!

I will try to post a pic soon. My brother has to get the software for his scanner first though. Is that your doxie/beagle mix in the red sweater?

Sounds like a cute, but very wild puppy;) I have a nine year old Doxie. She's a great girl. I can't wait to see photos of your pup.

Jennie....the pic of the dog on the right looks alot like my Rusty.

That's my Teenie Weenie girl:) There's more of her in Photos For Sharing. I just posted one of her, today. I've had her for 6 months, and she's lost 9 pounds. Being thin is especially important for these long backed doggies. Their discs just can't handle extra weight. She was WAY too fat. She's looking good, now!

This is a recent photo of her. She's a sweetheart. Very active and playful:)

Yup, doglover, thats Roxy, my doxie/beagle mix.  How big is your dog?
    • Bronze
Rusty is about 20-25 lbs,I guess. I'm not too sure...until we get him to the vet for his shots & checkup. He LOVES to eat,but I try to monitor his food intake...because of bloat & because of him being part dachsund.

My first dog (Sparky) was part dachsund & lost the use of his back legs (in his old age) & I think the extra weight he was carrying had something to do with it.

I forgot to mention that Sparky was also part terrier & beagle. We adopted him when he was 8 months. He died at 15 yrs old.

Teenie Woo is nine, and you wouldn't believe how bouncy she is. That weight really is important, but sometimes, it's just having that long back that causes a problem. Certainly, keeping them thin helps. I hope we get to see photos of Rusty soon!

I'll have to "get on my bro" to get that software for his scanner. I've got so many people on the net who want to see him.

He sounds adorable. Does he have long, feathery, Golden Retriever hair?
    • Bronze
No..he has short fur,but his coloring, his nose, & his legs & paws are Retriever. Odd,huh?
