MJ698, the poster said s/he needs a small dog.  I looove Bulldogs, but IMHO, they are not SMALL dogs (unless one is used to Newfies! LOL).

Except for the barking, a Beagle would be a good mix for your house.

    no barking??? huh...

I like Jack Russles, they are very playful and full of energy

It really depends on the training the dog has to determin it's attitude and behavor. Consider adopting an older dog who will not give you any surprizes that you would get with a puppy.

I would suggest perhaps a king charles spaniel as being small enough, and a good house dog.  We have friends who own two and they are just adorable and not terribly yappy-Seem to do OK with kids as long as they are raised with them.

well it can bark but only for an reason i dont want  a dog that barks just to be barking.

Then I wouldn't recommend a corgi. They bark just to hear themselves! I wouldn't change that behavior for anytyhing. A corgi meets all your criteria except for the barking, But Quiet! works to get her to stop.

A small dog that's easy to train, and doesn't bark a lot, that loves children and is playful???

My friend has a pug. Pugs are small, playful, love children, my friend's doesn't bark a lot and hers was relatively easy to housebreak.
I suggest a pug. They got the smashed in faces, they're small and stocky and so ugly that they're ADORABLE.
    Very gentle dogs, I believe.

Hmmm... Shippo only barks when he's playing, or if something has seriously alarmed him when we're outside and it's dark... I hope he doesn't grow out of being mostly quiet lol... of course I'm sure with continued training, I could probably have him stay like he is now... >o.o;< I hope.

Although before I got him I DID hear that corgis bark a whole lot... I was surprised when I got him...

I've heard many many times that pugs are not at all easy to housebreak, and most often, they never become fully housebroken.
