Shepherd or Husky or both? Bad breeding of Shepherd or mix?

She doesn't have much evidence that she's a mix at all.
The colour of her coat is not uncommon in German Shepherds, I have seen quite a few "silver" sables, as sable is a very varying pattern. I have also seen purebred shepherds carry their tails up high.

I think she's pure GSD, and she is absolutely gorgeous!

    What beautiful dogs, btw. :)

Thank you. Heineken was black & white when we got him (he was 7 then).  Evey time he shed, the balck would come in lighter, and cover more of his body.  By the time he passed away at 17, he was more a wolf grey then black.

She is DEFINITELY a Houdini dog but I wasn't surprised because all my Shepherds have been extremely intelligent (she's just the most, I think). Is that a husky quality, as well?

Well, the pure bred Husky I had before Heineken was quite the Houdini.  Heineken wasn't an escape artist, but, then again,  he was a pretty mellow guy.

Thanks for the input! She's smaller though- between 40-50lbs. The bigger one is about 78lbs.

Well, she's right at the high end for a female pure bred Siberian (35-50 pounds).  Heineken was 22 inches tall and weighed between 50-55 pounds.  Here's the AKC's breed standard for Siberians:  [linkhttp://www.akc.org/breeds/siberian_husky/index.cfm]http://www.akc.org/breeds/siberian_husky/index.cfm[/link]
