    Strong thoughts please!

The dog under our care with the liver shunt is going in for surgery today.. so I'm asking for 'all goes well' vibes and a quick recovery. The Dr. said there's only a 30% survival rate - so please let him be in that 30%!

I'll update as I know more....

I saw this early but couldn't post -- have been thinking of him today.  How'd it go?

    • Gold Top Dog

    never too late!

I actually haven't heard anything yet... I talked to the vet late this afternoon - and they were just getting started. He is with the cardiologist at UF - they are going in through his neck to repair the shunt.

I'm assuming at this point - no news is good news. Hopefully I'll hear tomorrow - if not, I'll be calling up there to see how my boy is doing!

    Good luck with the surgery!!

I'm hoping no news is good news - paws crossed here!

well - we got GREAT news. He did wonderfully - and not only that - but one of his techs is adopting him. I'm very happy for our special little boy... he's going to need ongoing medical care for the rest of his life - and possibly more surgeries. They put two coils in yesterday, but may need another.

That is WONDERFUL news!!! Sounds like he landed on his feet!!
