I know several of you were praying for her, so I thought I'd update everyone.

Monday was the most horrible day of my life.  I woke up to my Dad yelling that Mom was throwing up everywhere.  I get in there only to shortly realize she was unresponsive.  So I dialed 911 and they took her off to the hospital.  Ended up she was hemorrhaging in her brain and we had to put her on a ventilator.  On Tuesday morning they declared her braindead and we opted to take her off the ventilator.  She passed very peacefully.

It's been such a hard month and a half, dealing with mom's brain tumor.  By now she wasn't herself at all.  She was so dependent on everything which was so unlike the vibrant, independent person she used to be.  We're having her funeral service tomorrow afternoon.  We had luck convincing my grandmother that mom wanted to be cremated.  Nanna's having a really hard time, as can be expected.  My two little sisters are doing as well as you can expect.  We're all at peace with her passing.  Her tumor was the type that there was no hope of her recovering.  I believe we did everything right and every decision was made in her best interest.

It's been very busy of course and I'm exhausted.  I want to thank everyone that's kept us in their thoughts and prayers.  We really appreciate your support more than I can even begin to explain.  I'm still glad I took a break from college to come help take care of Mom this semester.  School would have started the day she passed and this way I can help Dad and Emily and Josie for a while before I go back to finish up my degree.

In loving memory of my mom, Shirley.

I am just so sorry, Laurelin.  I know all of this happened suddenly and I am full of admiration for the strength with which you've handled this.  Your mother was a beautiful woman, and I can just tell from the photo that she had a beautiful spirit, too.  She's not in pain anymore, and I hope all of you can begin to heal.

    ((hugs))

Oh, wow, Lauren.  I have such mixed feelings.  My heart is breaking into a million pieces for you & your family.  Your mom was a very beautiful woman.  Please accept my condolences & my prayers are still with you.  I know your mom is out of pain & with a pack of Papillons running all around her.

I know I can't say anything to make you feel better, but I just want you to know that your Mom had a beautiful spirit, can tell from the picture. She's no longer suffering and in a better place, watching over you and your family. I am so terribly sorry. (((HUGS)))

I am so very sorry for your loss.  She was a beautiful woman.  I'm very sorry you weren't able to spend more years together.  My thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time.

Honey, I am so very sorry for your family's loss.  As someone who had to watch her own father die from cancer at a young age, I sympathize with your situation.  You will soon find out how incredibly strong you are (and have been actually!).  Obviously some days are harder than others, especially since you will be helping to care for your sisters, but we have no doubt you will make your mom so proud.  You are her legacy you know.

    (((((((hugs))))))
