Prayers for my mom please *UPDATED*

    Hi all,

My mom had to have a repeat mammogram today due to a suspicious spot found on the first one she had done last month. There is a pinky tip size spot on her right breast that they were wanting to look at with today's diagnositic mammogram. We don't have any knowledge of cancer in the family, but we sure could use some 'no cancer' prayers.

I'm trying not to let it bug me, but I'm nervous. I know Mom is too. So, I'm asking for some of those wonderful i-dog prayers that this suspicious spot is nothing more than a blip in the film or a benign calcification. My parents don't have insurance due to Mom's medical history - they can't even begin to afford the premiums, and Dad's job doesn't offer insurance.

Please pray for my family that this is not going to be anything to worry about......Amy

    prayers on the way

    Mine too.

I just went through this myself before Christmas...only they didn't tell me what they were concerned about until I got there.....just some "density".  I think it's not real uncommon as we get a bit older for there to be spots that are more difficult to figure out.  In my case, it was fine, but by golly they smushed me repeatedly....to the point that they actually bruised my breast.

While this is probably nothing, I completely understand the fear.  Sending relaxing vibes as well as prayers.

Like Glenda, I've "been there done that" and man it is scarey stuff.  Good thots and prayers for you and your Mom (and Dad - he's worried too)

Good "no cancer" vibes coming from us.  Fingers and paws crossed for a negative result.

It's very common to be called back for further testing.  Been there, done that myself.  The statistics are heavily on your mom's side -- about 80% of  the time, it turns out to be nothing, or something that's harmless (like a cyst).

I will keep your mom in my prayers.

Good vibes for you & your mom, dad & you.  Please let us know the results.

I'll definitely keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers that the new mammogram shows nothing to be concerned about.

Oh man, that's so scary! My mom went through the same thing. ((HUGS)) to you and I hope it all turns out OK.

I've had to have that done several times and they all turned out negative.  As others have said, it is hopefully just the docs being cautious.  I know how scary it is for you and your mom, and rightfully so.  You and your mom are in my prayers.  Let us know what the results are.

Good news! Good news! The doctor's office called today, and the repeat mammogram is clear!!!!!!! All I can say is Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiipppppppppppppppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just want to say thank you to everyone for their prayers and calming good wishes. It makes it easier to deal with a problem like this when you have a way to share the burden, and knowing so many of you on here understand the fear.....my Mom and Dad say thank you, I thank you. Hugs to everyone!
