Prayers that this is his FOREVER home

Last night I spoke with someone very interested in my foster dog, Buddy.  I posted pics previously on this thread:

This guy and his set-up sound pretty much ideal for Buddy and his needs.  The only potential deal-breaker is Bud getting along with this gentleman's current dog.  Buddy likes some dogs but not others.  PLEASE send good vibes that Buddy will play well and like this cocker Thurs evening when they meet.

Poor guy saw Bud at Petsmart Saturday.  Said he did not talk to us because he did not go there intending to adopt another dog but Bud's eyes just followed him!  Could not get him out of his mind Sunday and even went so far as to go to ACC (the pound) here on Monday because Petsmart people told them that is who had the basset Sat.  He looked at them all but did not see 'THE ONE".  LOL

I have been talking to Bud telling how important it is for him to like the other dog! That it would mean more attention and no kennel time anymore for him!  YEAH!

I have been hoping and praying that things work out and sure could use some good thoughts from everyone else.

    Thanks

I sure hope this works out for him too.  He looks like such a sweet boy with those beautiful eyes.  If not this guy, there'll be somebody who'll want him and love him to pieces.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

Last nite we completed his adoption!  My DD and I cried all evening but in our heads we know he is in a much better environment for his needs.  It's just our hearts that won't listen!

For all of you out there that foster year in, year out - Thanks for doing such a hard job!

I know it was tough, but kudos to you for opening your hearts and your homes to him and giving the right family the chance to find him.  As a recent adopter of a foster/rescue, I thank you!

It's nice news to hear - congratulations!

I don't know what to say, thank you for having opened up your heart, and at the same time I am sorry you had to let go, I know it had to be difficult.  I hope he gets along with the other dog, have you had any updates?

    Thanks Olinda and Lisa Marie.

No updates yet - his first visit was 6/29 and it seemed everyone got along very well.  Tues 7/5 was when we took him back, completed his adoption and left him there.  Figured I would give them at least a week before I bugged them for an update.  Tomorrow I will see the adoption coodinator who should have an update for me about the 1st 24 hours.

*Sigh* i knew when he came it was only temporary till we could find him a home but deep down i was hoping to figure out a way to keep him and still make everyone happy.  I just have to keep reminding myself that this now leaves more time to work with my ACD foster and make her adoptable - right now Sirius is a wild child! LOL  She doesn't seem to miss Bud at all but my dog seems a little sad even though Bud would pick on him when Sirius picked on Bud!
