Update On Rich Cancer will soon break artery

Rich has had one episode of profuse bleeding from his mouth, but that was a vein. The Doctor said it could break though the artery at any time. He said if it does it will not stop. He said it could be 2 hours or 2 weeks. Hospice gave me valium IM to give him if it happens and instructed me to have dark towels on hand. I asked them if they had any for me
Rich just says its not going to happen. I called his kids and let them know. I just need some support. I'm not ready for him to bleed to death!
Please anyone reading this that smokes Please stop!! It can happen to anyone and its horrible. I have quit for almost 3 months now and if I can do it under all this stress anyone can,

Just came across this thread and read back.I'm so sorry for what you are going thru--it's a terrible thing watching a loved one die.I had my mother at our home the last 4 months of her life in hospice and I pray I never have to see that again.You deserve so much credit for keeping it together and not going back to smoking. GOD BE WITH YOU.

Gosh Julie, I can't imagine how frightening this must be for both you and Rich. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. We never imagine that "in sickness and in health" would ever mean this, but it can. You are truly the angel sent to stand by Rich right now and he's very blessed to have you. [sm=angel.gif]

Hugs to both of you and as I said, I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers.

What a devastating thought, Julie. I can't imagine what that prospect is like - I will pray that Rich is right and it doesn't come to that. And I'll tell my DH what you both are going through - he promised me he would quit 19 years ago before we got married.

Again, wishing you strength and comfort for you both.

My thoughts are with you as well. I've been quit for three years, and things like this help me stay quit. They do make a difference.

I'm so sorry that you are facing this, and we are sending good vibes for a more peaceful situation than what you described. Glad also that you feel you can come here for support. Lean on us any time you need to - we are all sending our best to lift you up.

I watched my father die of lung cancer from smoking; he was 47. Oh, Julie, what a horrible thing to think about. I can't imagine how you feel and pray that Rich is right, that it won't happen. If it does, you will find the strength to handle it. I'll be praying for you and Rich, and I'm sending lots of cyber hugs. God bless you.
