I'm so sorry to hear this news!  I was just catching up on your photo thread about sweet little Emma.  I'll keep her (and you and your wife) in my thoughts tonight and ask my Tonka to watch over her (he does a very good job as an angel when pets and people need some special vibes).  Take care.

Bradly I'm so sorry to hear that Emma has parvo I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.

i just got off the phone with the vet. he said emma is showing some signs of improvement, but she is still very sick. he anticipates the treatments to last about 5 days. we are missing her very much, and hope we get to see her soon.

we spent the majority of the evening/night yesterday disinfecting our house and yard with bleach. so i hope we have destroyed the nasty virus. parvo has to be one of the cruelest diseases for dogs.

thanks for all the well wishes.

I am glad to hear of her progress and sad that she is without you and DW right now.[&o]

Still [sm=crossfingers.gif] for the best possible recovery for sweet emma.

Poor Emma.... sending good vibes for a complete recovery.  Hope to see good news updates soon!  And that she's home romping around in no time.

Oh, i'm so sorry, that sweet little girl.  Here's hoping for a full recovery for her.  We've had quite a few pups come into our shelter with parvo, and they all recovered, so i just know Emma will be ok too.

ETA:  have you talked to the person that you got her from?  if she has it it's very possible the rest of her littermates will too.  just a thought.

it is a kind of convuluted story about how we got emma. one of my wife's co-workers's wife's boss knows the people that had the litter (did you follow that? [8D]). my wife's co-worker and his wife took it upon themselves to find homes for many of the pups. i do know that the co-worker has contacted all the people he gave pups to and told them, and his wife told her boss. we are trying to get low cost/no cost spay/neuter info to the people that have the mother dog (and possibly the father too), since they dont seem to be financially able to care for a litter of puppies.

thanks again for all the well wishes.

i just talked to the vet. he said she is showing some signs of improving, but she still has a ways to go. she held down a little chicken broth yesterday evening, and her stools are less bloody. he thinks that with treatment through the weekend, she should bounce back.

thanks again for all the well wishes, thoughts, and prayers.

talked with the vet this morning. her condition is still improving little by little. she is holding down most of the broth they are giving her, but still not anything solid. he said there was very little blood in her diarhea yesterday. plus she has started to move around some in the cage she is in.

I just picked up on this thread. Wanted to send our best wishes to Little Emma!
I'm so happy she seems to be getting stronger and better each day...sure hope it continues!  Maybe by the beginning of the week she can come home for some loving care!
