    Goldy-Willow

Goldy-Willow needs some healing vibes sent her way.  She's battling an inflammatory skin/allergic reaction/dermatitis condition and is such an uncomfortable girl right now. [:(]  ...with some traditional med intervention, she's on her way to better health today though!

Many thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Thanks, all.  Willow will be 6 years old in July...this was her first trip to the emergency vet!  She's never had any hot spots or skin issues before.  The hot, very pink, inflammed skin on her belly and underneath her tail are covered in oozing, bloody, open sores and she needed to be shaved.  I know it's likely not life-threatening in the end but she is suffering nontheless and your thoughts are greatly appreciated! That sounds so painful for her - is she doing any better today?

Hi, thanks for asking!  She is getting there...she's still a bit sleepy from the benadryl (which is helping to keep her from digging at herself) and the sores appear to be on their way to drying up but can still be weepy due to moisture.

Good vibes going out to Goldy-Willow!  I hope she's feeling much better VERY soon!  Poor girl... reminds me of Trixie when we were treating her for demodex.  It's awful knowing they don't feel well and that it's going to take time for the meds to kick in.  At least she's getting some rest with the Benadryl... if I give it to Trixie, she bounces off the walls.

I was wondering if she was on Benadryl or not.  Even though it makes them drowsy I feel at least it keeps them from feeling as uncomfortable.  I'm hoping she's back to 100% soon!

Good vibes coming your way, Goldy-Willow.

Yes, I agree with you about the benadryl.  I'm not a big fan of medications in general and tried an all-natural product on her that I've used before with much success...but this time it backfired and actually made things worse I think (maybe because it is a wet spray).  Besides the benadryl as needed, Willow is also taking Prednisone (tapering dosage), antibiotic for 14 days (for secondary infection), and a powder to absorb moisture in all those warm areas...keeping things dry and less itchy.
