Oh, Lor I just saw this.
Willow honey I know how you feel honey. You tell your momma you're sick sooner next time.

I am just now seeing this as well. Poor, poor Willow. I will keep your pretty girl in my prayers that everything clears up soon.

I never seem to get used to her having these problems even though it's been going on since I got her.

I know exactly how you feel Lori.  Sassy's been doing great and it seems like it's been a long time, but it's actually only been a couple of months.  It's just that I'm so used to her having one problem or another, that it seems longer.  I hope Willow's better after this course of antibiotics and can avoid any more problems for awhile.  I know you both need and deserve a break for awhile [:D]

I too am a little late Lori but I am glad you got her in and she seems to be inproving. I will keep her in my thoughts right now for a speedy recovery with no side effects!  Hugs to the girl and sloppy kisses from JJ and Pru![:)]

I'm late to this too but still sending Willow lots of feel better hugs and kisses from all of us in WV.  I hope his round of antibiotics clears up the infection for a long, long time!  Even though Willow has had these problems, it's still hard to get used to.  I think the same thing when it's Trixie, although now I don't freak out nearly as much as I first did.   Hoping she continues to feel better every day!

Oh, wow, I just came back and realized there were many more good wishes for Willow.  Thank you all so much.  She's feeling pretty good but I'm still seeing a not so good urine, very, dark and bloody.  Ugh, I'm going to call the vet tomorrow and see if she wants to do the culture sooner.  I'm thinking this isn't the medication she needs.

Awww, I'm so sorry the medication isn't working; poor Willow. Let us know what the vet says.

Thanks.  If anyone wants a tip for something to put medication in I've been using the Laughing Cow cheese.  It's soft and she's taking them with no problem.  And, it's low fat.

Best wishes for Willow, and you. I hope she gets the right stuff, fast.

Thanks for the tip too [:)] Boomer is on 7 pills a day at the moment and he's starting to run from the peanut butter jar [8|]

She's even got an ointment for her private area to help with itching and any secondary "female" issues that might pop up due to the long course of antibiotics.

I know from the most recent posts on the other thread that Willow is doing better (fingers and paws crossed!) But I had to ask ---- Willow is a hairy girl, right? Do you keep her vulva area reeeeeeally well shaved and clear of all hair?

Just curious, I have a very hairy breed and if not kept shaved and clean most times vaginitis and UTI's can occur over and over. The hair is like a wick for bacteria. We were also told to keep girls prone to these problems on probiotics, lactobacillus in particular. Frequent bathing of the area with a good antbiotic shampoo, or a sit bath in epsom salts bath can help keep germs away. Worth a thought.

Oh, yes she is quite furry.  I'll be sure to remind them to trim all the sanitary area when she's groomed.  They usually just to the rear end.  Thank you for the post!!
