My grandma's dog Zorra needs good thoughts.

My grandma's dog Zorra needs good thoughts.

She went to the vet yesterday because she wasn't eating and it was very odvious she wasn't feeling very well.  She is the cutest little Schipperke, 3 years old.  They did blood work and she has a low white blood cell count and a fever.  They told her that that was very unusual.

This is actually her second Schipperke, the first one she had was named Foxy and she had her PTS because she got cancer when she was 8, way before her time.  She got Zorra 6 months after Foxy passed.

So any good thoughts would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Sending good thoughts and vibes for Zorra.  I hope she's okay; your grandmother must be so worried.  I think Schipperke's are the coolest little dogs - so smart.  Years ago a co-worker was looking into getting a smallish dog for him & his wife (they'd had large family dogs all the years their kids were at home, and someone suggested the Schipperke as a smaller alternative).  I overheard him on the phone with someone who was describing the breed, what it looked like, etc.  I remember hearing him say:  "They don't have tails?  Well, how the heck will I know when he's happy?"  It made me chuckle.

Keeping fingers crossed - get well, Zorra!

;Poor Zorra; I'm sending healing vibes; did the vet prescribe anything or have an idea  what may have caused this?

Thanks everyone so much for the good healing vibes.  They worked.  The vet just thought it was a gastro infection ( I think that's the term ).  She was put on medication, a pill and then some sort of liquid.  She's back to her old perky self.  I was just very worried because it would break my grandma's heart if she had to PTS so young.

Oh and tacran, you definately know when she's happy.  She smiles and she also pattycakes.  She'll stand up on her back legs and pattycake with her front paws.  She does this when she wants something, or when she's really excited.  My grandma's other schipperke did this too, so I think it's a breed trait.  Will have to get a video on youtube sometime and post it (that might be out of my technilogical league though).  Actually my BF, who thinks she's the second coolest dog next to Harley, imitates her when he wants something.  It cracks me up and is very cute.
