I don't' want Stella to die

    [:(]
I have finally decided that I have to give up my 8 month old [linkhttp://www.petpeoplesplace.com/system/topicdetails.php?postid=6260#]goldendoodle[/link]. She bites and is out of control. I have had trainers and her trainer said that she is the kind of dog that gets passed around and is eventually euthanized for biting. I lost the love of my life, my dog Beau, almost 2 years ago. He was the most gentle loving dog in the world and I cry over him EVERY SINGLE DAY. Now This. I cannot believe God has laid on me another nightmare. Why does he not protect me from such things. I love this little dog. I named her Stella. I carried her over my should when she was a small puppy and I gave her a bath under the [linkhttp://www.petpeoplesplace.com/system/topicdetails.php?postid=6260#]faucet[/link] while holding her with one hand. But I cannot live with the biting or the destructive high strung energy. She stresses me beyond belief. The trainer said that even the humane society will not take her because of the biting. I am broken hearted. I love the little stinker but I don't like her at all. I may have no choice but to put her down. It is AWFUL---she loves life. Please pray that my little Stella finds a home where they can help her be a [linkhttp://www.petpeoplesplace.com/system/topicdetails.php?postid=6260#]good dog[/link]. Please pray for me that I can handle this horrible stress of having to get rid of a dog I named the beautiful name Stella and love but cannot handle and fear for her very life. I thought this would be my dog. God help Stella and me.

Maybe God in His wisdom knew that Stella would have a chance with you. If we hadn't decided to adopt Jessie she would have been PTS because right after we put her on hold, the shelter learned that she had kennel cough, and they euthed dogs at that time for kennel cough; they no longer do, thankfully. Jessie has been a high maintenance dog because of bad allergies; she's had 3 emergency vet visits for severe alergic reactions and infection. We went through expensive allergy testing with a specialist and she has allergy shots (immunotherapy) every 2 weeks. Plus, she has food allergies and is going through another elimination diet now because we suspect she has new food allergies. If we hadn't taken her when we did she'd be dead, and if someone else had adoted her it's quite possible they wouldn't want to deal with her allergy problems and she'd probably be dead. I actually believe God was looking out for her; we were thinking of getting a pedigreed GSD but went to the shelter just to see what they had, not really expecting to find a dog, but we fell in love with her.
We also took in a very shy abandoned cat (Weasel) several years ago who became very sweet and loving; he later developed bone cancer in his left rear leg and we had to decide whether to spend $1300 to have it amputated or have him PTS. The specialists at the clinic we took him to said he had an 80% chance of complete recovery if his leg was amputated so that's what we did; he's still doing great. Do you think God was looking out for him too when Weasel came into our yard; I do.
I understand why you're frustrated and dissapointed; it sounds like you've really tried very hard to help this dog by consulting several trainers. Could this be helped with medicine;  have had you had Stella tested for a possible medical condition that could contribute to her behavior such as a hormone inbalance? You may want to consult with a holistic vet before you give up completely;  they may be able to help you control her behavior through treatments like calming supplements and accupuncture. Here's a link to help you locate a holistic vet in your area;    [linkhttp://www.vetlocator.com/holisticandalternative.php]http://www.vetlocator.com/holisticandalternative.php[/link]  .  Here's a locator for holistic vets that train at the Chi Institute; they're supposed to be very good and are highly recommended by Callie;   [linkhttp://www.tcvm.com/]http://www.tcvm.com/[/link]   As heartbroken as you sound at the idea of having her PTS, I think a good holistic vet would be worth a try. I'll be sending healing thoughts and prayers, and many, many hugs; hopefully, someone else will have some ideas to help Stella.

I don't know what to say.  I know the feeling well of thinking " I can't keep this dog, I can't keep this dog."
But, I think in the end you will because like me you love your dog.  I think your just frustrated and maybe scared of her a little bit right now.

I'll be hoping for the best for you and for Stella--which by the way, is a very pretty name.

Oh my, I went through this with Joy when she was 4 months when we first got her. I suggest you read The Tellington TTouch, bu Linda Tellington-Jones. It can really help you figure out whats wrong with her, and help solve this through massage.
