Friends who've had a very sad loss

I posted something on the Rainbow Bridge section about this, too.

Please keep our friends in your thoughts and prayers today.  They had a fire in their house yesterday while both at work, and even though the fire department responded quickly, their 4 bunnies did not survive.  The property damage is irrelevant - the loss of their pets is devastating.

I know they consider their pets as true family members, like children, so their pain is unimaginable.  When Tonka was alive, that was one of my worst anxieties -- a house fire when he was home alone.  I remember driving home from work once, seeing heavy black smoke coming from my general neighborhood as I drove, and I was a basket case imagining that my house was in flames while Tonka was trapped inside (it was some kind of major field fire).

I'm sure they're struggling with guilt, regret, what-ifs and all that.  Please include some good vibes for this couple -- it is very much appreciated.  Thank you everyone.

Gosh Tracy, that is so sad and I can't imagine how I'd be feeling.  I worry about that kind of thing too and only hope my neighbors would help if we weren't home.  I know I'd do the same for any of them and their pets.  There was some farms that caught fire a few weeks ago due to some horrible winds.  They showed a horse galloping around in it's corral and you could tell it was panicked.  Man, it broke my heart.  Later there were stories about sheep and other animals that perished in the fire that day and I couldn't even watch it on the news or read about it.

Anyway, I'll keep your friends in my prayers.  Having good friends, like you, will definitely go a long way towards easing their pain.

I am sending prayers, too. Those we grieve for, be they animals or people, are so hard to let go of. I'm so sorry.

Tracy--Willow and I are thinking of your friends and praying they find some sort of comfort to get them thru this horrible time.  Your friend, Lori

Same here, Tracy.  I'll keep them in my prayers.  I also have the same fear... that my house will catch fire and nobody will do anything to make sure my girls are out and safe.  I usually leave the doggie door open for Gracie but even then, I worry about someone leading her out of the yard.  WHEW I hate being a worry wart!!  I can only imagine what they're going thru right now with all the what ifs and regrets.  Good vibes coming their way from all of us.
