    Miss Holly Sue

My 17-year-old cat, Holly, was put down a few days ago.  She recently had some teeth pulled and, afterwards, it appeared there was a tumor in her mouth.  We tried pain meds, antibiotics, and steroids and she still seemed sad and miserable.  I went to pet her a few times and she just huddled into the corner and stared at the wall, her poor little nose all stuffy and congested.  I told her I knew what she wanted and would do it for her.  We then made the decision to put her out of her misery.  I wanted her to live so much...I've had her since I was 8 or 9...possibly younger.  I'm 23 now.  I love her so much.  It's so sad to know she's not here.  But it is relieving to know she's not suffering.  I hope, wherever she is, she knows why we did what we did and that we love her.

Please pray (or say a few words, if you're not a Christian) for my Holly.

I am so sorry for your loss.
Please know that your baby is healthy, happy and chasing mice at Rainbow Bridge.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

It's really hard to make a decision like that when you love her so much. Sometimes it helps to realize that you gave her a gift by letting her go. My prayer is that God will touch your heart with comfort and that you will soon be able to remember the good times and not the pain (either hers or yours). Holly Sue will always be a part of your life, no matter how much time passes and no matter how many others come in or out. May God bless you.

Your sweet baby is in a wonderful place called the Rainbow Bridge.  She's young and healthy and has all her teeth again.....and HAPPPPPYY!  She'll play in the meadow with all the other animals who are waiting for their people, but at the Bridge time passes in the blink of an eye, so she'll not be pining for you.....she's happy and content and KNOWS how loved she was and still is.

AND, she's thanking you for giving her the ultimate gift.....a peaceful release from her pain.
