I have admired the relationship you hold with your grandmother. You, my dear, were your grandmother's friend. You gave her the opportunity to vent; to speak the truth; to release, before she passed on. We all should be so lucky to have a grand-daughter such as you.
I echo the thoughts in Barb's post. You were a blessing to your Grandmother when she needed it most. Not only was she lucky to have a Grand-daughter like you, you were also lucky to have her as a Grandmother. Both my Grandmothers died by the time I was 2 years old, so I have no memories of them. Even though your heart is hurting now and the recent days and weeks have been very challenging, you will have so many wonderful memories to comfort you.
I'm glad that you were able to be with her as she passed, despite how difficult that must've been. I have to think it's best to leave one's physical life with the voice and touch of loved ones being the last thing you know. My condolences to you and your extended family at this sad time. You all have a very special Christmas angel watching over you now.
Edit: Both my Grandfathers died before I was 2, but only 1 Grandmother did. I don't why I spaced out and wrote that wrong (although my surviving Grandmother didn't have a lot of involvement in my childhood, so maybe that's where my head was). Anyway, just wanted to clarify.
