Need prayers for Jessie please; update; no tumor!!!!!!

Early this morning Jessie started panting rapidly and was very restless. Her eyes were moving erratically and she also had trouble walking. We took her to Purdue small animal hospital; they handle animal emergencies in our area. After an exam by a student internist and a neurologist, the diagnosis is vestibular disease. I knew it was probably a neurological problem when we took her there and also that vestibular disease can be caused by a middle or inner ear infection. Based on his exam, the neurologist thinks the likely cause is either a tumor or inflammation in the brain, with a tumor being at the top of the list. Her blood pressure was very high; the upper number was 190 and I forgot what the lower number was. They are going to do various tests and based on the results, may do an MRI tomorrow. I don't have to tell you how worried we are; I know you understand. The internist is going to call this evening explaining what the tests showed and to tell us if she's going to have the MRI. Please send all the prayers and vibes you can; she is so precious to us.

When Foxy had that it was about THE scariest thing ever -- and **he** was terrified. They don't know what's happening to them and it is really scarey not being able to "go" where you want to.

Yes, the word "tumour" always comes up -- BUT it usually isn't, particularly in a mature dog. But to be honest, my biggest fear that morning was that I thought Foxy was going to have a heart attack just from frustration. HE thought he was going to die -- and talking him down from that was huge.

I'm glad you have her where she can be seen by good people. Prayers and Good thots FOR SURE.

Thank you so much everyone; I've been crying off and on today and reading your posts really helps. The blood work was normal and there weren't any masses in her chest or abdomen. I spoke with the neurologist this afternoon and the most likely cause for her symptoms is a brain tumor but he also said there's a possibility she had a stroke because her blood pressure has been high all day and there was protein in her urine. If she had a stroke, they can find the cause and manage it. If it's a tumor, they will try to manage it with medication. Tonight, they're going to give her medicine to lower her blood pressure and she will have an MRI tomorrow. It's still hard to believe things could change so fast; I walked her for more than an hour yesterday, and when DH came home from work she ran circles around him in the yard. Today she can barely walk. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers; I'll update this tomorrow evening.
