Well, he's continuing on trying and eatting and resting. I think he needs lots of time now. We're not seeing the drastic increases in improvement on a daily basis now that we were before but that's ok since he's not going backwards. I'm getting him up 3-4 times a day and walking, sometimes bit longer. I feel terrible for him when he falls... and he does sometimes, makes my heart sink for him since he falls on his head/chin, but he gets right up again. I do have him in an assistive harness but now he pulls ahead of me and I let him try on his own, he mostly makes it, with about one fall a day. I'm trying to make him use the foot while up by manually walking him forward on it for 5-10 steps and then rest. The water we do once a day, it exhausts him, b/c he panics a bit.
The neck is really infected still and after talking to the vet we've got to try to pop it again tonight or I've got to run him over the vet to be lanced before they close, it's very hot to the touch and once it stopped draining it become a huge (sorry to be gross) pus filled bubble again... the air is nearly gone from under his skin. I'm pleased that he's continuously eatten for several days now. I have to present tasty food and sometimes smear a bit in his mouth, but once he tastes it he'll generally eat the rest of a can. He likes simple foods, whether they be canned or homeade... some sort of meat and rice are his faves, more complex mixes he's just not into.
