    A sign from above...

    This gives me shivers...

Two young sisters in our town, ages 11 and 17,  were killed last week in a tragic auto accident.  The youngest was a star Little League pitcher, and the oldest was an all round sportsman.  The youngest was a bright cheery girl, and the oldest was a quieter, motherly type.  Both were well loved in the community and faithful in their church (which happens to be my DIL's church).

Over a thousand people attended their funeral service yesterday.  It was an on again, off again rainy, sunny kind of day.

Just as the family drove into the cemetery, a double rainbow appeared in the sky...

Never in my life had I seen a double rainbow until I moved to the south.  They really aren't totally uncommon down here.

But honestly?  I believe the Alpha of all Alphas (as I choose to call Him) goes to wonderful lengths sometimes *just* to comfort and love us as needed.  My sympathies to them.  What a wonderful memorial for those girls.

Beautiful sisters showed their family they are OK.  A true sign.  I pray that they can continue to show their family signs going foward until they need to move on to their next phase of their existence.

I agree; sending prayers for this family.

That's goosebump material, Marty.  I just can't imagine the pain that those who love these girls are going through.  Just beyond comprehension.  My condolences.

I have many stories that prove this is true.  Including yesterday, when my late fiance's brother came with dad for a short visit to see me and Mike's son.  A hawk appeared and flew over (my signal from Mike) and just at the moment he knew I'd know it was him;-)  That family will remember that rainbow for the rest of their lives...

What a special story.  Thank you for sharing it.  I agree that it'll comfort the family forever.  When my aunt died of cancer many years ago, the funeral was on a cold, grey and rainy day in a small church with many stained glass windows.  When the priest was saying the closing prayers, all of a sudden the sun came out and shone brightly through all the colorful windows for just a few seconds.  We all felt that it was my aunt letting us know she was okay.  The image of it is still in my mind, over 20 years later.
