Well, cytology on the lymph node does not show cancer...it is just inflamed. So we will go through with the eye removal surgery...scheduled for tomorrow. I guess that is good news...never walked this road before! So, prayers and good vibes would be welcome for both of us!

Marty, that's great news about the lymph node. As a side note, my husky Shari had an eye removed at age 14 due to rupture. She battle chronic dry eye most of her life and it ended up being a good thing, the eye removal. She was back to normal within a couple of weeks. It was scary when she came out of surgery - part of her face was shaved and the eye socket was stitched, but she had hair back in no time and the socket wasn't too obviously sunken either once the stitches were removed. She got around well, too, with just one eye.

GENERALLY when a lymph node is enlarged it JUST means the body is responding to an infection threat. That's generally what the lymph nodes SHOULD do. Worry not.
