    Interactive toys

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I wasn't sure where to put it.

I've been trying to prepare myself for a very busy smart dog, just going off everything I've heard and read about Tollers. So I went out and bought the Nina Ottosson Dog Pyramid. But I oopsied and bought the regular one thinking it was smaller, but its huge lol. So now I need to find a new toy for Lilith in the mean time (she already has a ton of chew toys and RBs, I just need interactive toys now). I was looking at these and wanted your guys thoughts on them:

    -Omega Paw Tricky Treat Ball

-Omega Paw Tricky Treats Ball Dog Toy

    -Everlasting Fun Ball Dog Toy

-Premier Busy Buddy Tug-a-Jug Treat Dispensing Dog Toy

I'm not sure if she'll be too young for some of these and I'm not sure which ones would be better. I haven't tried any of these toys with my Poms. Anywho if anyone has other suggestions beside those ones I'd love to hear them. Thanks Big Smile

Bailey's favorites are the Everlasting Fun Ball, Tug-A-Jug, and the Bob-a-lot. The Bob-a-lot is probably his top fav, he loves wacking things w/ his feet. It is soooo much better than the Kong Wobbler, much better quality and design.

The everlasting fun ball is great - sometimes I put kibble in sometimes I put something he really needs to work to get out.  I also use an orbee ball like that

He loves the wobbler (never tried the bob-a-lot)- he pushes it around with his nose

    Of course we have kongs

We have a pawzzle but that is huge - toughest one yet for him and that is saying something

Kong genius toys - we have a tube and a bowling pin - I would rather have two bowling pins - in hindsight of course

The other thing I did was just create a couple of toys using PVC pipe and drilling kibble sized holes in them and put caps on the ends.  Those have worked out really well

We have had various busy buddy toys but something about the purple rubber is nummy so those die instantly

Thanks guys, I'll grab the fun ball and the the tug-a-jug to start. I'll have to google the other ones you guys said and check them out. Big Smile

Thatcher really likes the Buster cube. It has settings that you can change to make it easier or harder and it's fairly easy to figure out-just have to keep pushing it around, lol.

I've got two Tricky Treat Balls and the Tug-A-Jug. My guys love both of them. Now, they are slight experts when it comes to puzzle toys, but the Tug-a-Jug takes a little longer to figure out. But both are great toys IMO.

I also have the Busy Buddy Puppy Twist n' Treat. It's a beginner's toy, really, but it's variety and might be a nice one to start a pup on. You can't go wrong with learning how to stuff a normal Kong well. I also have the Kong Genius which I am so far pleased with.

We have the Zanies wooden dog puzzle. Jules loves it and Goose finds it quite fun as well :)

Hmm the Buster cube looks like another good toy! So many to choose from lol. I'm going to have to buy Lilith a toy box with so many toys lol

I did see the Busy Buddy Puppy Twist n' Treat, but I wasn't sure about it, it looks weird. So would she just hit it around till food falls out? And I was trying to read the description on it, it says you can tighten it to different size openings. So the more they get used to it the smaller the opening the harder they have to work?

I do also have a regular kong for her to play with. What sort of treats do you put in the toys?

That one looks really neat! I think I want to grab that one for her too. Looks like it would keep her busy for a while.

Sort of. It opens up into two halves. And then you screw it together to close it. If you just put kibble in, you pretty much have to close it down as tight as it will go, or all the kibble will fall out as soon as it tips over. But you could put bigger pieces of stuff in, like cookies or whatever, which would then only come out the widest parts. see, the two pieces screw together with a football shaped opening on each side, where food will come out. If that makes sense. We have two. usually when we use them I will put one dog outside, fill both of them with one dog's meal(it won't fit in just one) and then hide them in shoe boxes or something similar. But then its not really the toy they're figuring out, they have those figured out, its more opening a shoebox to get the toy out...I'm sure that won't be much challenge for long either, but for now, it still takes a minute or two...

Oh boy, its late. I'm really tired, and you probably won't understand that post anyway...sorry. Stick out tongue

Don't put the Twist n Treat in the dishwasher though, LOL. The rest of mine I throw in, but for some reason after the TnT went through it wouldn't screw together anymore!

The Twist and Treat is a big hit around here.  I spread cream cheese and Cheese Whiz or some other combination of creamy stuff in it.  For Buddy, I don't screw it as tight as possible...I give him a bit of room to work on it.  For Bruder, his is closed as tight as possible.  I love to watch him....he uses his paws and jaws to untwist it completely until he has two pieces....then he licks all the goody out of it.  Takes him about 3 minutes and he is completely done.    Heidi savors hers.  I'll twist hers as tight as possible....and she works on it for a looooong time.

Sounds like the Twist and Treat is a great toy. My puppy toy list is long lol. I'm ordering the Fun ball, the twist and treat and the tug-a-jug on Friday to start with. I went to Petsmart and they don't carry half the stuff in store that they have online *sigh* They all sound like great toys and I figure with the variety I'll be able to figure out which type of toys she likes best and get others like it. And this pup for some reason does not like the Nylabone or the kong. I even put peanut butter in the kong and she just looked at it and walked away lol. I also tried a raw beef bone (with meat on it and a little bit of marrow in it), and she didn't like it either. She didn't mind it without all the meat on it, but it didn't hold her interest for too long. I may need some chew toy suggestions, Lilith is picky lol
