Now I have a friend in need (Callie)

Now I have a friend in need (Callie)

This is more than a bit sensitive so I can't post many facts.  I have a friend in North Carolina (she's near the University) who does rescue and a TON of pet therapy.  She's being harassed by a group of people essentially trying to make her just leave her property so they don't have to buy it.  A lot of really nasty stuff going on and today they sent Animal Control in to "remove" her dogs.  She's had some rescues dumped on her recently and some local rescues have been working with her to take several a day to help place them -- but the 6 dogs they took today are all HERS and "seniors".  Three are actively working therapy dogs.  She lost one a month ago (I've referred to Brownie on here before -- she adopted this deaf/blind-from-birth springer and reared him to be an awesome therapy dog!!) so there's just too much sadness to deal with.

She's beyond blue ... but I need to help her find some folks to at least take these six seniors -- none of them would be adoptable because of their age (10 and up).

I've known "Ellie" for about 10 years now ... she is one of my best friends and has been a huge source of encouragement to ME.  She told me she's just going to "work all night" because she just can't face going home to a completely empty house.

If anyone has any friends in rescue in the area let me know.  Or if anyone knows anyone who would be willing to foster any of these dogs please let me know.

This lady is NOT a hoarder -- I really can't say more, but I am SO worried about her.  Prayers and good thots for "Ellie" and trust me ... the Alpha of all Alpha's knows who she is!!

Are they small dogs, Callie? Or bigger kids? I'll certainly ask around. I do know a couple of folks in NC and SC who do fostering. Of course, all the kids I've sent to them are littles.

And of course, she and her dogs have our prayers.

Assorted - I know Max is a border collie mix and I can't remember what Jordi is.

Brownie was always my favorite *sniff* -- I actually "helped" her rescue him (we brainstormed on the phone one night -- the old codger who had Jake and Brownie just kept them in a small pen 24/7.  Jake was an older Springer and Brownie was the deaf/blind springer.  She said Brownie was probably the most empathic therapy dog she ever had.

     Good thoughts for your friend.

I wish I could help with fostering but I will certainly keep her and her dogs in my thoughts and prayers.

Wish I knew someone who could help.  All I can offer are good thoughts for her & her pups.

My prayers go out for your friend Callie....wish I could help but she will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I wish I could help her out too. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers though and I know she's already blessed to have you for a friend.

Oh this has gotten SO ugly.  I just can't say much but she lost her job (that is so just WRONG) because of a fear of publicity.

People love to listen to "news" and ASSUME it's true.  A dog has an accident in a crate during the night (and not all are used to being crated) and the report says "living in ***".  It's very much in this slime's best interest to put a very negative spin on this.

Yes, she has seen an attorney (and I can't say ANY more).  Ellie really appreciates the support so much.  If this attorney can reveal some of this -- honestly this is a rescuer's worst nightmare.

Again -- feel free to email me if you want/need more specifics to pray for.  But let's add the candle link

Only just now seeing this, but all good thoughts coming for your friend, Callie.  I hope everything will be resolved in her favor very soon.

It's looking up - again, I just can't say much because now this is in litigation.  If you'll continue to lift her and the situation up it would be awesome.  It's becoming more clear how badly they attempted to set her up ... much is now in God's court to do what He wants done.  But she has SO appreciated the good thots and prayers.

I've updated you folks who have responded in an email -- because this is an ongoing litigation matter I really don't want to post anything.  But keep her lifted up pretty please.  And feel free to email me.

I'm late seeing this, but send good vibes to your friend and those who are trying to help her.  I can only imagine how complicated and heartbreaking the situation is -- hopefully it'll have a good resolution soon.

Anyword on your friend lately?  Please tell her she is still in my thoughts!

Animal control reneiged on their promise to allow her dogs to go to foster homes and at this point they are STILL being held at Animal Control (but AC has been beseiged by offers from "approved foster homes" to take them).  The actual  hearing isn't for another month so it's been tough for her.  She really does covet the prayers.
