Thanks guys.
Right now, we aren't sure what's wrong with him. He collapsed in the kitchen this evening. One minute, he was walking alongside me, & then he just hit the floor. He lost consciousness briefly, was bleeding from the mouth & when he came to, he looked pale, which caused a major freak out on my part. On the drive, he vommitted all over me. and my purse. and my phone...
There is a large convention going on here this weekend, & most of our local vets are participating so nobody was available to take him. The e-clinic that I use only had one vet on duty & their wait was "about 3 hours." I ended up taking him to a friend's clinic. (she's an orthopod) She has an internist, & radiologist on staff, so she called them in to help with Boo. I will say that it was very nice to have 3 doctors who are only focused on him.
His PCV is 43% which is pretty normal for him. All of his bloods were normal. We went ahead & ultrasounded his abdomen, & his heart. They both appear normal as well. They put 3 stitches in the cut on the inside of his cheek. (he either bit his cheek or the impact of the collapse caused a cut) At this point, nobody really has a clue what's going on with him. The hope is that he ate something that really messed with his stomach. That doesn't really explain his collapse though.
Right now, he is hooked up to IV fluids, has meds in to try to settle his stomach, & he got morphine so that he is more comfortable. I spoke to our regular internist, who is speaking at the convention tomorrow. He is going to come by in the morning to check Boo.
