Sadie could really use some healing vibes and prayers...

Sadie was in for her blood tests today and we DID NOT get the results we were hoping and praying for.  Apparently her crit dropped further and is at the transfusion level now (11.4%).  I'm in shock to say the least and now gotta decide when to bring her in.  I'm waiting for her doctor to call back and tell me what she saw under the microscope first.  I thought for sure that she was at least stable where she was last draw or even better.  Her crit on Friday went up 2 points to 21.

It's looking to be a really rough night here.

Please spare some more thoughts, vibes and prayers for my girl.  Transfusions are always scary and tricky to deal with.

Prayers for the best possible outcome for both of you

I have just seen this update, Johnny hang in there. we are all pulling for you Sadie girl can you feel all the vibes coming your way?

I both extremely happy and a little pissed at the same time!  I'm really happy to say that Sadie's crit is at 24% !!!!!   Yup...can you say "Doin the HAPPY Dance."  The only explanation for the low crit last night was either a bad draw or something wrong with the analyser.  Dunno but I'm BEYOND relieved at these new results!  I was a mess going there thismorning expecting to leave her for a transfusion.  The stress was unreal!

If I would have listened to the doctor(s) and did the transfusion last night then who knows what the outcome would have been.  Transfusions are always done ONLY when absolutely needed.  Lots of risks involved.  They were going to take her to the back to prep today but I insisted them do another blood draw cause things just weren't adding up for me.  Got some weird looks for this request!!!  I've dealt with this disease enough to know something just wasn't clicking.  Go figure...my gut feeling was right again.  How many people do you know would back down from a transfusion with a crit of 11%....which was run twice by the way (same blood sample though).  I went with the gut which was saying last night that she was clinically stable enough NOT to need to be transfused.  Most people would go ahead and do it not actually knowing why or what.  Can't help but wonder how many get done without actually needing them.

Anyhow, enough of my ego rant.  I asked the doctor what the deal was with the low result last night and told them how I only slept maybe 20 minutes total from being up all night worried sick thinking the worst.  They said it could have been the blood draw OR analyser OR a slight possibility the number was right.  I can say with 100% certainty this wasn't the case.  I suggested that perhaps they should be owing me a free blood draw (CBC and Chem) or a refund due to these results and they were really quick to shoot this down.  This really got the temper going.  I kept my mouth shut thank doG ONLY because Sadie was glued to my legs and there was no need of stressing her from me argueing or yelling.

Am I wrong for wanting a refund or free draw??? 

Well....all I can say is THANK YOU to all of you that sent the prayers, thoughts, vibes and well wishes.  Once again the idog power pulls through!  SLoppy Sadie kisses to all of you.

Will keep you all posted on how she does.
