I haven't been able to be on all day either -- but she's been on my heart ALL day long.  Keep going Sadie girl --

I hadn't seen the earlier thread about Sadie's diagnosis . . . I'm so sorry to hear that you're dealing with this terribly scary situation.  Although I've not experienced it first-hand, I've followed similar stories here on the forum, and I know how devastating and frightening it can be.  Sending a huge supply of strong, healing, and supportive vibes from Oregon all the way over there . . . you and Sadie will be in my thoughts.  Take care.

Good news and bad news so far.  The good news is that her PCV went up 2 points to 20% BUT clinically I think she's doing worse.  Due to the climb we held off on the transfusion to see how she hold out today and tonight.  I'm not sure what to think about these numbers though because her leukocytes were almost non-existent...meaning there was either a problem in the draw OR the analyser???

She's really lethargic at the moment and not wanting to eat.  She puked several times already today and her stools are like water now.  She is however drinking lots of water.  I had them check her electrolytes and they all turned out good.  My suspect for the upset tummy is the ATOPICA!  She's being fasted at the moment before her next med dosage so hopefully this will help.

Appointment is in the morning ...hopefully she won't need a transfusion.

Seems like so far the power of the i-dog community is working.

THANKS MILLIONS!  I'll keep you all posted.

Johnny, whether we call it vibes or prayers or what ever, there is POWER in numbers, and this group  is extraordinary!!

My duck does NOT like being left out of anything and she says I'm supposed to let you know that all those good vibes, healthy thots and prayers are coming from 3 humans, 6 german shepherds, 3 cats, and one extra special duck!

Johnny?  How is Sadie doing today?

She's holding her own for now.  I re-scheduled her appointment for Monday afternoon from Saturday.  She seemed to be holding stable where she was Friday so I'm keeping the hawkeye on her now.

The large doses of drugs is really taking their toll on her.  I'm contemplating changing the doses some to accomodate her needs but will wait to see what her numbers are tomorrow.  I can tell the pred is affecting her muscles and the atopica makes her puke almost everytime!  Poor babe.  I know she thinks I'm the devil for forcing meds down her.

I'm suspecting a urinary tract problem now so will address that in the morning also.  Hopefully she gets her appetite back soon also as she's not too interested in eating much.

She's on bed rest so her activity is being strictly limited.

Thanks everybody...the idog support seems to be doing the right thing for her.

    HUGS TO ALL

Hang in there Sadie!  We're all thinking of you here.  Brutus sends big, strong, Boxer kisses!

    • Gold Top Dog

Not to be outdone, Thor, Sheba, Shadow, Thunder, Tyler and Theo ALL send super strong and healing gsd kisses, and Corky sends along a little duck nibble too....and those are VERY powerful "kisses".

I'm so glad to hear that she's holding her own.  Maybe something really stinky will appeal to her?  Jack Mackeral REEKS.....just rinse it really well since it's packed in brine, so salty as heck.

I've been MIA most of the weekend but I've been thinking of Sadie all weekendd -- I know you and I don't like azathiaprene -- but if she can't tolerate the atopica it would be better than losing her to weakness.

tough choices Jon ... but you have been in my thots and prayers ALL weekend!!
