The last time I asked for your thoughts and prayers they were for little Missy when she battled pancreatitis. Well, she's in dire straights again. This time with pulmonary edema, my parents took her to the E Vet tonight, and once they took X-Ray they could see she's in serious condition. They don't know WHY she's having this reaction. Her heart is beating evenly and strongly... they don't think cardiomyopathy, or CHF though they are having a radiologist look at her x-rays, to see if they can see anything specific.
They left her there overnight getting oxygen and medication, essentially, if she doesn't react to this positively by morning.... she probably won't get better.
They also said, that it can disappear (with treatment) as easily as it showed up and they never know WHY it happened. An allergic reation, toxin.... who knows. This is the "best case scenario".
I went to the Shelter about a week after we lost our little Penny in a tragic accident. And found the most pathetic and loving creature and brought her home, that was about 5 years ago. We named her Missy. She chose my mom... and has followed her around loyally ever since. I tried to call her mine, but she was always my moms little dog. I moved far away a few years ago and still get to see her a few times a year... and a special place in my heart will always belong to that little girl. If you have a prayer or good thought you could send to Missy or my mom, it would forever be appreciated.
I know this forum has a magic ability to make things happen.... and we could really use your help.
