Things are still shaky regarding DH's job. They were told a couple of months ago that they may be closing the plant he works at. There are big meetings scheduled for Thursday and next Tuesday. He's not sure what, if anything will happen yet, but I'm getting worried! They might open the contract and cut jobs and benefits (although he's been there for 8 years, DH is now 20-something from the bottom of the list of over 200 employees because of a few rounds of layoffs) or they may shut down the plant entirely and move it elsewhere. Or, and this is my extreme wishful thinking, they'll shut down another plant and move the jobs to where DH works, which is the most efficient plant in the company. This has been suggested at meetings before, but the company said that that wasn't even an option - apparently because of taxes and other politics, WI isn't the most business-friendly state.
Like the rest of the world, there aren't very many good-paying jobs around here. Currently DH makes decent money and has good benefits, even though he has no college education. Although it's stressful, I am thankful to be a stay-at-home mom, and I really don't want to go back full time. That is, if I can even find a job. We've talked about moving quite a bit, but it all depends on what happens with his job.
I would appreciate any vibes you could spare. Thank you!
