In the center column, 4th picture down, she has no name, but says under her pic "sweet old girl has some medical issues" http://www.midmichiganadopt-a-pet.com/id15.html
She was in the overnight drop at the shelter when we got there yesterday. I'm not really sure if she is just grossly overweight or there is something else going on. She has a mass on her shoulder and one on her abdomen. She can barely stand or walk because her back legs are extremely weak. She hasn't had her nails cut in ages, until I and another volunteer did it yesterday, but their condition has clearly affected her ability to get around. Her ears are seriously inflamed inside. She was still eating and drinking, wanted her belly rubbed, and when I stopped petting her, she pawed at me insistently, as if to say "don't stop". She went a little nuts barking at one of the shelter cats. She's obviously got heart despite the neglect she has suffered.
Someone loved her at some point. She's tattooed inside her ear. There was a collar on her recently enough that the hair still had the indentation of it. If I had to guess, she was turned in so the owner didn't have to make the choice to let her go. Unfortunately she was turned in as a stray and will have to linger 7 days til she can be released from her troubles. I'm so incredibly sad and angry at the same time. There's nothing I can do for her - she can't get around and I can't lift her; the extent of her medical issues is beyond my financial capabilities.
It's not easy to tell from the picture, but she has a face very similar to Agnes's. How could someone do this to such a sweet dog?
Please pray that her last days are merciful and she can be free of her struggles soon.
