Hello all. We are bascally waiting for her remains to be ready and we will take her to NH tomorrow for interrment. Trying very hard to reach the priest to have him say a few words or do the ritual or whatever Catholics do. DH is on the phone now waiting for him.
We spent 34 hours in the car getting here. Not fun, however, we did stop in VA and pick up oldest DS so he helped with the driving.
When we went to make the arrangements yesterday, we did a private viewing. MIL had insisted on no funeral, no viewing, etc, so she was not 'prepared', and that being the case, I requested that I see her first. I simply did not want Todd's last memory of his mother to be something horrible. After 48 hours in the fridge I had my concerns, but, she looked sooooo peaceful that it was a wonderful goodbye for him.
We are staying with his ex wife, son, etc, which is interesting but fine.
We are all hanging in there. Best we can at least. I'll be back when I can
