    Good Vibes Appreciated (BlackLabbie)

I applied for a nutrition and weight loss coach position and I really, REALLY want it. I'll be making the same amount I do now and commute more but I really want to be able to help those on their weight loss journey. I know I'm still on mine but I have a lot of valuable information, plus I've been there...at the begining of losing weight. Also, I'll be starting classes in the fall for physical therapy, exercise science/personal training and I want to tie all this in together. So, any good vibes would be much appreciated!

I really want this job. Actually, I'll take anything to get a foot in the door right now, but this job really is something I want. DH keeps telling me not to get my hopes too high because a lot of people applied and I really have no experience in this field- yet. Experience wasn't required, but I'm sure lots who applied already had some. But, the women said she liked my resume and sounded eager to meet me, hopefully that's a good sign.

Then you sell yourself if other ways.  Don't focus on the experience you lack....focus on other highlights you can bring to the table!

How exciting.   Best of luck and sending "confidence" vibes your way.

Sending good interview vibes your way . . . I hope you wow them and they offer you the job!

In recent months, I've been heavily involved in helping an organization find and hire a major position, and it was my first time being on the other side of the interview table.  We've conducted several interviews, and I can tell you that the people we really liked the most were those that appeared sincerely engaged with us and had good, positive energy (I know it's hard not to appear nervous, but you'd be surprised at how many people didn't smile much, spoke kind of monotone, etc.).  Yes, we wanted to assess whether the person had the right skills or experience, but more importantly we wanted to get a "feel" for how they'd interact with other staff and the public, if they seemed eager to learn and be open to new ideas, etc.  So, I think you'll do great if you appear relaxed and approachable and genuinely interested in the mission and purpose of the company and the position.  Good luck!!!
