So glad that he's doing well! Hope that he has a quick and uneventful recovery

Hey, everyone.  Just popping in to say that Charles is doing very well.  He's having normal conversations with us and he's sleeping much less today.  He's feeling so well he said he thought he could go home in a few days. lol  That's not happening but he is improving by the hour.  I'm almost afraid to say it for fear of jinxing things.  His sister went home today.

I am so tired and have not gotten much sleep.  I lay down but I can't turn my mind off.  I am the type to deal with this sort of thing with keeping positive and making jokes and staying moving.  I don't sit by his bedside crying and all that.  But when I lay down and there's no one to talk to and nothing to do (well, that's not true but you know what I mean), all the possible scenarios just keep flashing thru my mind.

But I'm toddling off to bed real soon.  I took two benadryl and hopefully that will knock me out.

I keep saying it and it sounds like a broken record but you guys are absolutely awsome.  I wasn't going to post tonight but I couldn't not let you know how things were.  Thank you is not adequate for what I feel for all of you.

Ms. Jackie I am so glad to hear that Charlie is doing better.

Please, please, please make sure you rest. Just tell your mind that it is ok to relax for a little bit, I think I can say that all of us are more than willing to step in and keep the prayers, thoughts and keep getting better wishes high and strong while you do so.

I'm so happy Mr Jackie is doing well!!

Jackie, I hope you managed to get some decent sleep. You've got to take care of you!!

I'm sp happy to hear things are improving for Charles.  Hopefully you had yourself a sound sleep last night and feeling more refreshed thismorning.

Sending some more prayers and healing vibes to both of you.

Jackie, I'm glad you took some Benedryl to help you sleep.  You know, under these circumstances a sleep aid may be in order.  Maybe the doctor can prescribe you something just so you can get a decent nights sleep.

So glad you popped in to say hello last night before you hit the hay.  Its really needless to say, but we all will continue sending positive healing thoughts to you and Charlie.  Luckily, you are naturally an optimistic, positive person....so keep that up, especially during these difficult times.

Mr. Jackie....you will be home soon.  I know how difficult it is to be cooped up in a hospital room.  Your mind says...I'm ready to be in my own bed....but your body isn't quite ready yet.  Soon, Mr...soon.

    Take care....bjh

Jackie so very glad to hear the continued good news, tell Charles as slow as he has to as fast as he can!  I can totally relate to the impatience that will build but this one is too serious to allow impatience to interfere!

And do try to sleep - I hope the benadryl helped without putting you in a coma (as it does to me!) It is important that you keep your strength up.  Eat well too!

huge hugs and prayers for healing and strength coming your way

    oh and Bugsy kisses too!

Jackie, I am thrilled to hear that he continues to improve.  I can't even imagine what you're going through, but I hope you were able to get some sleep last night.  We're all still here for you and are keeping up the prayers and vibes.

Keep getting better Mr. Jackie and you'll be home before you know it!

Still sending good thoughts and prayers for you and Mr. Jackie. And "it's ok!" vibes to the pooches.

Jackie - I hope the benadryl worked and you were able to get a good night of sleep. I know how it is to not be able to shut off the brain at night, especially with so much on your mind. I hope the news is good for Charles again today too. There isn't much of my day with I'm not thinking about the 2 of you.

Jackie called me this morning and this is the first I've been back to the house to post.

I am so tired and have not gotten much sleep.  I lay down but I can't turn my mind off.

Dont' think the Benedryl did much -- she said she still has barely slept.  I told her "Hylands Calms" -- she's totally in "take care of Charles" mode -- she got in bed and remembered she had to remember to take his razor to him in the morning -- so she got up and got that ready.  Got back to bed and remembered something else ....

JACKIE -- I HEREBY REQUEST everyone here begin to send out "Jackie take care of YOURSELF" prayers and good thots!!  She said something to me like "I have this "my-husband-is-in-the-hospital-with-a-brain-aneurysm disease I think".

    Further Charlie update -

He walked about 60 feet yesterday!!!

They took the drain out of the surgical site yesterday.

He has some moderate short-term-memory  problems.  After he had spoken to his brother on the phone, he asked her later "Did my brother go home?" and she said he hadn't been there, but Charlie had talked to him on the phone.

But then she decided today maybe Charles was remembering things better than SHE was.  When she got there last night Charlie was telling her that Dr. Sarkovsky said he was supposed to do blah, blah, blah .... and Jackie said "Charles you don't HAVE a Dr. Sarkovsky - you must have dreamed it!!"  But then a few minutes later she found out from the nurses that YEP, there *is* a Dr. Sarkovsky and he did say exactly what Charles said.  (Which is when she got bummed because she'd forgotten his razor on two successive days ....)

Catheter is out and he's doing that on his own.

The floor he's on in ICU, each nurse only has two patients each.  Charles' one nurse told him they were going to kick him out of ICU early because she just didn't have enough to DO with him in there!! (That's a pretty nice comment actually!)

To those of you I've given Charlie's hospital address -- I would just not put a room number on there -- depending on how far your mail has to go, he may be in a regular room by then.
