Just checking to see if there is any news on Charlie today?

Hope all is well.

Continued thoughts and prayers for Jackie, Charlie and the dogs.

 Jackie, I've not been around much lately for posting, but still thinking of you and Charles every day. I'm glad to hear the positive updates - let's get that man home soon, eh??

He had a good day and was very upbeat.  His occupational therapist said he was doing great.  The physical therapy is the hardest for him because he is still pretty weakened.  He's getting stronger every day because I see it when he gets in and out of bed, etc.  He asked me to bring him his headphones so he can listen to the UT game and the Spurs, without bothering his roomate.  He is reading agan for the first time since this happened.  All good signs.  I'm bringing the dogs up on Sunday to see him.  He's really looking forward to that. :)   Me too.

Yay!  I bet everyone, including the puppers is going to be so excited!  Jackie, so glad to hear that Charles is getting stronger.  We're still thinking of you guys :)  It really is amazing that he's back to reading and wants to listen to games -- that's a good sign!

good that he's reading -- that should help re-train the short term memory as well.  But a man who shows his interest in sports when it's normal for him -- that's a man who is healing!!! RAH!

It sounds like things are looking GREAT!!!

Funny story, when Riley says her prayers at night, we include Mr. Charlie.  Last night she tipped her head looked at our Charlie and said, "what's wrong".  I tried to explain it was a different Charlie, a non furry Charlie.  She just giggled...

Excellent progress was the first thing that came to mind when you said Charlie wants to read AND listen to the game.  That is great news!  Yeah, physical therapists = physical torturist.  Just kidding, but I've had to have physical therapy in the past, and t'aint easy.  It does help tremendously though and his strength will build. 

I wish I could be a fly on the wall when you take the dogs up to see him.  Such joy that will bring!

Yea Charlie!  Yea Jackie!!!  You guys are doing great!  The dogs will be soooo happy and that should help Charlie too.

This made me laugh!   Thanks for the giggle  Charles is getting better and better.  Today his abdominal staples came out. He's lost a total of 22lbs since this happened.  He's getting around pretty good and looking forward to coming home tomorrow even if it's just for the day. I've been on cloud nine today rushing around cleaning and shopping.  It feels so good to know we can spend time together without anyone else around.  He's feeling frisky which is a good sign but the doctor nixed any ideas of "cooking".  I can't share the whole story but let me just say that I managed to make the doctor blush. Sheesh, it's hard to be delicate about some questions. :)

Good to hear he gets to come home!  The prayers and good thoughts must be doing their job!!!  I bet the puppers will be happy also!
