Lori I missed this whole thread!  I am so glad that Willow seems fine, I hope she has a reduction in swelling by now

Give a belly skritch for me!

Lori...how is Willow?  Is she better now?

    • Gold Top Dog

She's not better.  She's still slightly swollen.  And, now there are some areas right below her nose that I'm concerned about.  One area was bleeding a little bit the other day.  It could be because she's licking it.  But, I'm not sure.  Her vet thinks she may have some auto immune skin problems going on.  I don't know, I'm just praying it's nothing that serious and I'm over reacting.  She's sleeping and eating OK.  No poop issues.  She's a little quieter than usual, she hasn't woke me up at all this week.  Usually by 10am she's pawing at me to get up--I work nights.

I'm still scared.  And, hoping she doesn't have to go thru anything else.

Thanks for asking!!!  It means a whole lot to me.

    Lori

Keeping you and Willow in our thoughts.

I can't remember how old Willow is.....just thinking of my Cindy dog when she got older...skin things started developing.  Can't really remember too much because at that time I had two dogs and two young boys and between it all didn't seem to have too much time to worry about any one of them individually.     But do know she lived to about 12 yrs old...not bad for a Dane/shepherd mix.

Guess all you can do is watch it and hope it all just heals eventually.  Probably can't put anything on it.... I do remember Cindys nose was one of those that occasionally people are concerned about that crack and look ugly....and I used to put antibiotic salve on that she immediately licked off.

Poor Willow.  I hope the appointment tomorrow goes good.  I wonder if Vit E on it would help.  I used this when Tessy's nose was tender and it worked wonders!  I just poked a hole in one of the caps with a needle and pressed it out on my finger then rubbed it in really well.

I wonder if they'll put her on a different antibiotic.

I'll be thinking of Willow and sending all the Get Well Willow vibes I got.

Good thoughts to you and Willow. I'm hoping it's just something simple.

Good thoughts to Willow and you!

Thank you guys!  She's going in the morning.  Of course, tonight, she's bouncing off the walls pawing at me to play.  She didn't do any of this all week.  CHOWS!!!

I'm getting the feeling she's going to make me look like paranoid doggie mom yet again!

In total honestly I HOPE she makes you look like a paranoid dog mom and that there is absolutely completley NOTHING wrong.  You can deal with appearing over-careful -- it is, after all, what's kept Willow "ok".

Have thot about you all week -- so if prayers and good thots can help you've got them!!

Lori, as usual I'm very late seeing important news.  I hope all goes well at the vet's tomorrow, and I'm with Callie ---- it's better to look like a paranoid Mom than to miss something.  You know, I got a spider bite a couple years ago.  Couldn't remember it happening, but it had to be during the night, as I woke up with this huge, red, itchy bump on my shin.  It was well over two weeks before it started to go away.  I decided it was okay as long as it didn't get larger, or break open or look infected ---- it just stayed puffy and red the whole time.  Maybe this is just a really stubborn toxin that will show effects for several days.  It's a great sign that she's behaving & eating & eliminating normally, so I'll keep thinking postively!  Hugs to Miss Willow!
