    That's awesome!!

No joke -- after being up there SO many times when he was treated for IMHA, Billy became a "Gator" (football team)  Now this is interesting because he does NOT get that here!  Neither David nor I watch sports at all.

I dogsat for my boss's dog last summer -- a big old white lab sweetheart.  Laddie came complete with his own "bed" - a huge foam bed in blue and orange with a "Gators" logo on it.

When David was wrestling it in place in the hall, Laddie was checking Billy out while Billy was checking Laddie out.  and when I saw the blue and orange bed I looked at Laddie and said "GO GATORS" (cos I *know* my boss is a major Gator)

BILLY WENT CRAZY!!!  David was in shock "WHERE did he learn THAT little happy dance??"

I looked at him and laughed and said "David, this dog spent almost a month in ICU up there ... c'mon -- virtually every T-shirt up there has a Gator on it and on Game Days EVERYONE goes up and down the hall greeting each other with "GO GATORS" -- Billy just learned to be happy when the Gators won (and everbuddy was in a good mood!!)

So.... you're gonna have to check on your buddy later -- and tell him "Go Gators!!" LOL

Seriously, that is rockin good news -- what an awesome thing to have happen and you guys were awesome for getting him up there!!!  He just couldn't BE in a better place to have that kind of care!!!

here's a few pics of the little ham - before his surgery.

you'd never know how sick he was just by looking at him... as long as he was on his meds he was a normal pup. Hopefully now he'll have a longer, happier life! He's got a long road ahead of him, and I'm very glad he's going to someone that is going to be able to care for him long term!

Oh, I'm so happy for him for everything and he's beautiful!!

I'm so happy for this adorable pup.  It's very fortunate that he's being adopted by someone who will be able to deal with his care but most importantly give him the smooches every day he deserves!  I was worried all day about him and went to bed wondering how he did.  So, so relieved.Smile

I'm late seeing this thread -- I'm so glad the surgery went well.  What a sweet face!  And how lucky to have found a home with someone connected to the veterinary field.  Perfect for a pup who'll have some on-going medical issues.  Yay for happy endings! Smile
