I'm just now reading this Johnny, I'm glad to get in on the end of it....the part where she is home
My friend just went thru pancreatitis with her dog over Christmas season...scary stuff. They didn't keep her over night...and it might have been better if they had. Donna was up all night for a few nights, and it took a long time before she was really better. She has been eating Hills presciption diet since.
About your vet...yes...thats exactly what they meant when they gave you a quote. WHAT CAN YOU AFFORD??? But you know..... having put out so much to that vet lately.... just seems they should cut you some slack. I worked as a receptionist for 4 years at a vet clinic...and have to say that she got screwed so many times because of people not paying that I feel for them ALSO. She at least would make out a payment plan. It wasn't a good one....it was something like it had to be paid off in a few weeks.....but at least it was something.......at least you didn't have to be faced with not taking your dog home for Gods sake! She never threatened to not let anyone take the dog...she would just turn them over to collections. I don't blame you at all for being angry, but look at it this way, Tessy is better and thats what counts. When she is out of the woods for sure, you can take her to another vet. And heck with that one!
