Hey guys. I know I should probably introduce myself in the other section but I figured I would post here first. I am having a problem with our second dog lately. We have a boston terrier(around 1.5 yrs old) and a boston/beagle mix(just turned 1 yr). The beagle has always been hyper and really starved for attention. He'll jump on you and lick your face till you can't breathe. He's very nosy too. He also barks constantly if he doesn't want to be in his crate( only when there is stuff going on). This is part of the way he was condition. We bought him from a breeder and found that he wasn't socialized properly and now wants to be the center of attention whenever possible.
All that is fine, but it gets annoying sometimes, we love him just the same. Our boston is very well mannered and gets along with him fine. We did take our boston to training. We did not with the Boston/Beagle. We realize this maybe part of the problem.
He has been doing stuff we don't want him to do obviously lately, hence the point of this post.
Some times when playing with the other dog in our house he'll just stop and tinkle a little bit in random places. He is potty trained and usually rings a bell we have at the door when he wants to go out.
Also recently, he has ripped part of our couch, a rug we had in our living room, and most recently and most destructive, he ripped carpet on our stairs to the point where we need to replace it. Then today he scratched up our new dining room table.
Like I said, I love our dog and he definitely has good moments, but these bad things he is doing is definitely taking its toll on us and our bank accounts. I just wonder if it will stop. I had heard we should seek training with a beagle trainer. Does anyone think this is what is needed? Any help is appreciated.
