Desperate, Please Help

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has been so supportive. I am a newbie to this board and the outpouring of advice, enouragement and kind words has really been overwhelming. Hubby and I are serious dog lovers and there's few people in our "real life" who understand our passion for our pups! This community has been a great source of strength.

We really do appreciate the kindness, and the thoughts, and the reassurance that we did the right thing. We *know* we did, but man, it just hurts so bad.

Most nights I'd come home from work and he'd come running around the house and stand in a specific spot to wait for me. We are going to go pick out a tree to plant there this weekend. We thought it would be a nice tribute.

Thank you again, really, from the bottom of our hearts.

Shandy, I'm so sorry your boy is gone.  I love the tree idea.  I hope that a hundred years from now, you can both look down from the Bridge and see it there...
I  know that you loved this dog, and did your best for him.  I suspect you knew how bad it was, and the rehoming idea was just your way of working it out in your own head so that you were ready to have to let him go to his really forever home above.  WE've been there, you see.
