    Humping

I have two dogs, a 3 year old female black lab mix(spayed) and a 1 and a half year old male yellow lab mix(unneutered). My male dog every so often starts humping my female dog; surely thats not uncommon, but the fact that he humps her head is!

My female dog does not like this, and the male dog does not seem to get "the point" of what he is doing. Is there some way I can spare my female dog the discomfort? Will the male dog get the point sometime?

dominance is usually what it is.
And why not get the male neutered?

Oh he will be, as soon as other things I have to deal with are done. And as for the dominance, the female humos him and pins him down on the ground, so he knows hes not dominant! Perhaps horny and doesn't know which end to go for ?

I have a male and female dog.. they both try to hump each other. Boss if neutered, Gracie will be as soon as she's old enough.

My cats try to hump each other all the time, they are all speutered. I don't really care if they do it, it's just natural.. they just haven't seem to have figured out gender and don't care if it's male to male or female to female, or they are related.. they just do it. I have 7 cats, I expect weirdness. LOL

Try not laughing when you watch your barely-10 lb. cat humping away at your 100 lb. dog's head. Poor, poor Grey.

Romy (female 80lbs) and Winston (male puppy 20 lbs) also do this.  Winston tries to hump her head, she'll hump him back to show him who really wears the pants.  Hahaha.

I have herding dogs - ever notice how rare it is for anyone to hump a herder?
My Yorkie humps the occasional stuffie, though.  Maska is too lazy to get off the couch for a good hump - but if you mention roast beef he's right there! [sm=rofl.gif]
