LONG Ok all of you doggie aficionados. What is up with this?

First of all I don't know which of my two is the alpha, I must be really dense or they are. Anyyyhoo. Know that these two have never growled, snapped or snarled at each other. They are not in love w/ each other in that they never lay together or play together. but they do miss each other if the other has spent the day at the vet.
ok, here goes, I have never just put two of anything out I put four say, bully sticks, and they could be hanging around and nobody touches them then one of them start enjoying one and the other will either stand over that one or sit and watch, and sometimes the one will walk away and sometimes not? So sometimes I end up taking up all of them and nobody gets any and sometimes I think they are making a game of it AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHh. What should I do.

sounds like a harmonious existance to me...be happy about it..

if they are young,then they may not have gotten to that point yet..

i dont believe there always has to be a pecking order between two dogs...if there is,it could be so subtle you just havnt seen it.

with our 3,it is pretty apparent how the order goes...

AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHh.

I would say be happy that your dogs aren't always struggling for the lead. Then again, as someone else stated, their relationships are dynamic. Different contexts may elicit different behaviors. How do they react to a bone? This sometimes makes a difference. What is the prize and what is the value of owning that prize?

Never tried that they get those in their crates. I really worked at not setting them up for failure, because they were older dogs set in their ways when I got them.
