Hi everyone! I recently adopted an adult male un-neutered (soon to be neutered) wire coated terrier from the humane society. He is an ''adult'' - not a puppy, but not an old man yet. We named him Pirate. He is the BEST adopted dog a girl could ask for - no problems with separation anxiety, agression, going potty in the house, ect. He gets 5-6 15 minute walks a day- one when I wake up around 7a, one when my boyfriend wakes up around 9a, one at noon, one at 4, and another around 7p. The 7a/7p walks are always right after he is fed breakfast/dinner. He also goes outside (supervised, because we have a pool) whenever we do. He doesn't usually go #2 when we walk - he will go in our yard.
THE PROBLEM (sorry it took so long)
By 10-11p, he does a ''dance'' (we call it his excited dance) and squeals. He will whine and pace UNTIL someone leashes him up and walks him. I tried just ignoring him, but usually I cave. He usually doesn't even potty when we walk, and by this point, I am usually in my jammies. Please help me figure out how to stop this, before all of my neighbors think I'm crazy!
(Also, any good tricks on a way to get him to sit/down would be great! He is not motivated by dog treats-I swear I've bought at least $100 worth by now- or toys- or even really praise.)
