We just use standard human treadmills.
I first spend a day or two C/Ting for getting on on the treadmill on command. Once this becomes fun, I start the treadmill on the lowest setting, to where it is barely creeping a long. I keep the dog focused on his lure (treat, ball, tug), and walk him at this pace until I can remove the lure from the situation. I then increase the speed about 0.5mph per day until I reach 3.5mph.
Another technique I have found useful is placing the leash on the dog like a "show lead", high up on the dogs neck. Keep his head up and his body in one place. Then start the treadmill...keep him in this position using the leash until he gets in a groove. Then start giving slack.
He'll be WALKING on his own in no time.
