    Dog Training DVD's

Are there any definitive, must own, dog training DVD's out there?  I'd like to find a good dog training DVD that covers a complete training methodology of basic obedience, as well as information on dealing with behavioral issues, living with and caring for your dog.  I've got a couple titles that leave much to be desired.  The production quality isn't all that great and they work with already trained dogs.  I'd rather see completley untrained dogs to get a better idea of how the training methods really work.  Thanks!

Good question.  I was going to ask a simlar question, and hope that spiritdogs would answer.  She always has the best book/DVD recommendations.  I'll tell you what I have so far though:

[linkhttp://www.amazon.com/How-Bow-Wow-DVD/dp/B000CBNW7K]The How of Bow Wow[/link] - This covers the basic foundation skills: Attention, Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Go settle, Wait, Off, Loose leash walking, hold an object.  This video has the blessing of Karen Pryor.  Very popular series.  There are at least three sequels to this DVD.

[linkhttp://www.amazon.com/Train-Your-Dog-Positive-Gentle/dp/B00008O0VO/sr=1-2/qid=1165003417/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2/102-2185928-9408919?ie=UTF8&s=dvd]Train Your Dog - The Positive Gentle Method[/link] - My sister got this for me for my birthday.  This covers the same material as 'Bow Wow', but it is much different.  In some ways, I actually liked this video more than 'Bow Wow.'  Both really good in their own way.

[linkhttp://www.cleanrun.com/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=1552]Really Reliable Recall[/link] - Spiritdogs recommended this DVD.  According to her it's the best DVD for teach your dog the recall aka "come".

The only problem with these DVDs is that they don't show any problem dogs.  Like how to go about dogs who misbehave when your trying to teach them.  I'm having this kind of roadblock at the dog shelter.  I'll get into situations that I'm not prepared for.  Like the deaf white Boxer I was walking the other day who kept on biting on the leash.  Luckily, there was a trainer nearby who told me to just keep giving him treats as she walks alongside me.  That seemed to work.

Tawzer Dog Videos  - Look for people like Terry Ryan, Trish King, Donna Duford, etc.  They also have links to the sites of some of the best trainers & behaviorists.

Yeah, that's the problem I have with some training videos, but thanks for the suggestions.

    Anne.

There are an aweful lot to choose from on Patricia McConnell's site.  I think I will go with her when I do buy a video because I really love her book 'Other End' that I'm nearly through now.  I plan on reading all her short books like "Feisty Fido" and "Cautious Canine" next.

Out of these, which would you recommend getting first:
    1. Reading Between The Lines
    2. DOG-DOG AGGRESSION

    3. BOTH ENDS OF THE LEASH

    4. Advanced Behavior Seminar

Keep in mind I'm a novice trainer and only have been volunteering at a dog shelter the past couple of months.
