I am in the process of crate training our new rescue dog. I also thought it might be nice for Roxy to have her crate again, even though she is trustworthy in the house and is allowed to be loose (Roxy has always hated her crate). At this point, the crates are kept open. I have noticed that no one goes into their right crate. One night, Tanker (who is 65 pounds and in his eleven years has never been crated to my knowledge) was in Zoey's crate (she is 32 pounds) and my cat Mister was in Roxy's crate (Roxy is 25 pounds)! Last night Zoey was in Roxy's crate almost all night long. Is there something dogs like about crates that are a size too small for them? They really have to squeeze themselves into them and it doesn't look too comfortable, yet they keep doing it! Anyone else have this experience?
