Puppy proofing a room

• Puppy proofing a room Paulo Posted : 4/7/2006 1:50:03 PM I currently crate my Boomer during the day when we're at work.  The crate is in a spare bedroom upstairs.  I would like to puppy proof this room so he can have more room to play around in during the day.  The thing is the room is carpeted and I'm afraid he'll have an accident on the carpet as he's still only 8 months.  What can I use to cover the carpet which won't end up being a big chew toy for him?  I was thinking of those durable plastic chair mats but they're quite expensive.  I also don't want him to have access to the whole room and what to cut it in have.  Would my best bet just to go to Home Depot and buy some sort of wire mesh? • tashakota Posted : 4/7/2006 2:25:29 PM I would suggest that if you don't think he is completely, 100% housebroken, to not go that route yet.   Just remember you don't want to have any steps backwards. • Paulo Posted : 4/7/2006 2:33:12 PM Currently while he's out of his crate he doesn't have any accidents.  When he needs to go he sits by the patio door and whines.  The thing is I would like to puppy proof the area where his crate is.  We have tile in the kitchen downstairs on the main floor but I don't want to keep his crate down there.  As well he has a tendency to stand up on the kitchen draws to get his nose and eyes up to see whats on the kitchen counter. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
