It took me 11 months to housetrain Emma (she was 13 months old). She was not my first dog. I know how to housetrain a dog, but she... is a pain in the butt

My best recomendation is to put a leash on your dog and don't let her out of your sight. Ever. If you aren't watching her, she's crated. When she's not crated, she's leashed, or outside, with you. I tried the basic take her out every thirty minutes, normal potty training routine, and it didn't work. I had to stay on top of Emma, constantly, and catch her BEFORE she pottied, rush her out, and praise her heavily for going outside, each time.
I'm about to do the same with my Dachshund, who I've had for 6 months (got her as an adult, and she knows to go out, but hasn't figured out how to ask yet).
